The Los Angeles Rams host to upstart the Dallas Cowboys this weekend in a highly anticipated and the league’s most popular teams playoff showdown. Neither team has been this far in the playoffs in years. The last time these two teams met, the Rams edged out the Cowboys 35-30 in Dallas on October 1st. The Cowboys are surging and hungry for a rematch to hopefully reverse their fate this time around. Rams vs Cowboys division football playoff game is being started in Saturday, January 12 at 8:15pm ET/5:15pm PT at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles, California on fox TV network.
Why the Cowboys can upset the Rams?
1. Dak Prescott. The Cowboys’ third-year quarterback has matured and improved every year. He is one of the more mobile quarterbacks in the league, and he has a good running game to rely on when he needs them. Dak can read defenses well, and adjusts under pressure. Even though he was sacked a league-high 56 times this year, he never gives up and does everything he can to put his team in position to win.
2. Ezekiel Elliott. Dallas’ star running back rushed for over 1,400 yards this year, en route to his second rushing title. Opposing defenses have had a hard time stopping him. He’s also a good receiver, and one of Prescott’s favorite targets. If the Cowboys get their running game working early and often, it could be all over for the Rams in a hurry.
Why the Rams will win:
1. Jared Goff has plenty of weapons to work with. Even though star back Todd Gurley sat out the team’s last two regular season games, he should be back in the starting lineup this weekend. If not, backup C.J. Anderson should fill in nicely as he has in the last few weeks. Gurley has a good offensive line that allows him plenty of time to throw to his favorite receivers Brandin Cooks and Robert Woods. This powerful duo combined for over 2,400 receiving yards this season. Gurley also had over 500 yards receiving to go along with his 1200-plus yards on the ground. These are just some of the many talented offensive weapons that Goff has the fortune of using this weekend.
2. The Cowboys are banged up. Even though the Cowboys surprised most experts by making the playoffs this year, the road to the postseason wasn’t easy. They were without guard Xavier Su’a-Filo and defensive lineman David Irving during the wildcard contest. They will also be missing the services of wide receiver Allen Hurns, who suffered a devastating injury in last week’s win over Seattle. Although mid-season trade acquisition Amari Cooper filled a void in their receiving corps, Dallas’ injuries may be too much for them to overcome. If the Rams’ offense is clicking, it could be a long day for the Cowboys’ faithful fans.

Although the Cowboys could be poised for a major upset, odds favor the Rams at home in this contest. The powerhouse Rams are beatable, but then again, so are the Cowboys who had a history of slowing down one of the best offenses this season.. Whichever team controls the ball the longest will probably be the winner. With so many marquee players on the same field, this is definitely a game for fans and students of the game to watch. There’s bound to be more than a few amazing plays in this star-studded contest!
